Linguist and political activist Noam Chomsky and diplomat and former Brazilian Minister of Foreign Affairs Celso Amorim critically explore the socio-political and economic history of Latinamerica, especially Brazil, and the crucial evolving role of the United States. “History doesn’t repeat itself, but it often rhymes,” says Chomsky citing Mark Twain. Their own experiences as protagonists of this history as well as their role as critics is interspersed with poignant archival footage. Director João, a long-time animator, incorporates animations to emphasize and satirize the key events. “Education is understanding your place in the world,” says Celso Amorim.
