SPACES OF EDUCATION IN FILM FESTIVALETTE CIES 2018

The 2018 CIES Educational Film Festival, funded by the Open Society Foundations Education Support Program, focused on the sociopolitical factors that influence schooling in contemporary Latin American cinema. The selected films portray the complex interrelationships between school and family life, between schooling and social and political ealities, and the potential of education to transform individuals, communities, and society. The program blurs the distinction between documentary and fiction: it includes two documentaries, one of which uses narrative techniques, and four narrative films that incorporate elements of real life.
